Abstract

Vitamin D3 plays an essential role not only in calcium-phosphorus metabolism and bone health but also in cardiovascular system regulation. Recent studies have demonstrated that a deficiency of Vitamin D3 may significantly increase the risk of developing cardiac arrhythmias by influencing myocardial excitability, electrolyte balance, and the autonomic nervous system. This article presents a comprehensive clinical analysis of the association between Vitamin D3 deficiency and the occurrence of arrhythmias in adult patients. The research is based on the review of scientific publications from PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science (2019–2025), as well as clinical data from observational studies. Particular attention is given to the mechanisms by which low serum Vitamin D3 levels can contribute to atrial fibrillation, ventricular arrhythmias, and conduction abnormalities. In addition, the analysis considers the role of comorbid conditions such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and obesity, which often exacerbate the negative effects of Vitamin D3 deficiency on cardiac function. Preventive and therapeutic strategies, including Vitamin D3 supplementation, lifestyle modification, and regular monitoring of serum 25(OH)D concentrations, are also discussed. The results indicate that adequate Vitamin D3 status may serve as a protective factor against arrhythmias, improving overall cardiovascular outcomes. This underscores the importance of routine screening for Vitamin D3 deficiency in high-risk populations and the integration of Vitamin D3 management into cardiology practice.
