Abstract
This study examines the main indicators reflecting the tourism potential development of the Central Tourism Region of Uzbekistan, comprising the Samarkand, Bukhara, and Navoi regions. The research aims to assess the current state of tourism development, identify key trends, and determine the effectiveness of utilizing regional tourism resources. The study employs a systematic approach, comparative analysis, statistical analysis, grouping methods, and dynamic series analysis based on official tourism statistics for 2023–2024. The findings reveal a significant increase in the number of tourists served, tourism vouchers sold, and the overall value of tourism services in the region. The results also indicate positive growth in tourism infrastructure, including accommodation facilities and hotel employment. However, despite absolute growth in several indicators, the region’s share in certain national tourism indicators has slightly declined due to the rapid development of tourism infrastructure in other regions of the country. The study highlights the need to strengthen regional competitiveness through infrastructure modernization, digital promotion, diversification of tourism products, and improvement of human resource capacity. The practical significance of the research lies in providing evidence-based recommendations for policymakers and tourism stakeholders aimed at ensuring the sustainable development of tourism and enhancing the contribution of the Central Tourism Region to Uzbekistan’s tourism economy.
