Abstract

The study investigated the effects of different mini-tuber weight categories and planting schemes on the productivity, yield, and economic efficiency of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) cv. Sante. Four mini-tuber weight categories (<5, 6–10, 11–20, and 21–30 g) were evaluated under three planting schemes (70 × 16, 70 × 18, and 70 × 20 cm). The results showed that increasing mini-tuber weight significantly improved marketable yield and profitability. The highest marketable yield (34.6 t ha-1), net profit (220,291.0 thousand UZS ha-1), and profitability (166.1%) were obtained from 21–30 g mini-tubers planted at 70 × 18 cm spacing. The findings indicate that the combination of 21–30 g mini-tubers and a 70 × 18 cm planting scheme is the most effective for maximizing potato productivity and economic return under the conditions of the experiment.
