Abstract
The article comprehensively examines the theoretical, methodological, and practical aspects of developing students' analytical thinking in general secondary education. Analytical thinking is defined as an integrative personal quality that includes cognitive, operational, motivational, and reflective components. The psychological and pedagogical approaches of domestic and foreign scholars are analyzed. Criteria, indicators, and levels of analytical skills formation are presented. Pedagogical conditions and a model for developing analytical thinking are substantiated. Special attention is paid to the role of humanities in fostering analytical abilities.
