Abstract

This study examines the development and improvement of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) system as an effective management accounting tool in modern enterprises. In conditions of increasing competition and rapid changes in the business environment, traditional financial indicators alone are insufficient for evaluating organizational performance. The Balanced Scorecard provides a comprehensive framework that integrates financial and non-financial performance measures, enabling managers to align strategic objectives with operational activities. Based on a review of the literature and an analysis of practice in the manufacturing sector, the study proposes two additional perspectives—quality and compliance, and sustainability—to enhance the applicability of the BSC for metal-producing enterprises.
