This article examines the possibilities of media education aimed at developing students' media competence in a digital society, and highlights that today, the lack of media education among students in the use and perception of information media in a digital society is considered a primary problem. The fact that finding solutions to problems in the use of educational technologies in the international educational process is being studied by several scholars, and that scientific research aimed at developing students' meta-competence is justified, is considered an urgent issue in this article.
