Abstract
This article examines effective methods of teaching musical terms to students learning English for Specific Purposes. Musical terminology plays an essential role in developing students’ professional communicative competence, especially for learners studying music, art, performance, and culture-related disciplines. The article discusses how musical terms can be introduced through contextualized instruction, authentic materials, listening activities, song lyrics, concert reviews, interviews with musicians, and practical translation tasks. Special attention is given to the integration of vocabulary learning with speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. The study emphasizes that teaching musical terminology should not be limited to memorization; instead, students should understand the meaning, usage, pronunciation, and cultural background of terms. The article also highlights the importance of interactive tasks, visual aids, and genre-based texts in improving learners’ motivation. It concludes that systematic work with musical terms enriches students’ professional vocabulary and prepares them for international musical communication.
