Abstract
The article examines international hotel service standards as a foundation for quality, legal compliance, and sustainability in the global hospitality industry. It outlines the scope and managerial value of ISO 22483:2020 (service requirements), links ethical frameworks (UNWTO Global Code of Ethics, UN Guiding Principles) with consumer protection and non-discrimination, and reviews comparative classification systems (Hotelstars Union, AAA/Forbes). The study highlights the growing role of sustainability certifications (e.g., Green Key, LEED, GSTC) and the integration of digital security standards.
