Abstract

This article offers a scholarly analysis of Vadud Mahmud’s memoirs entitled Mehmudkhodja Behbudiyy, dedicated to his mentor, Mehmudkhodja Behbudiyy. Written in the 1970s, these memoirs provide valuable insights into Behbudiyy and the circle of Jadid intellectuals who played a pioneering role in establishing early press publications in the Turkestan region, particularly in the city of Samarkand. The memoirs describe in detail their efforts, struggles, and the obstacles they overcame in this undertaking. The study further emphasizes the importance of these memoirs for contemporary Behbudiy studies, as they introduce new information and enrich existing scholarship.
