Abstract

The Midday Meal Scheme (MDMS) in Primary Education is a critical intervention aimed at enhancing the nutritional and educational outcomes of school children. This paper explores its achievements and future prospects. The study employed a comprehensive review of literature, focusing on various aspects of MDMS, and a detailed analysis of its implementation and impact. The key objectives were to assess the program's effectiveness, identify its strengths and weaknesses, and provide recommendations for future improvements. The findings highlight the positive impact of MDMS on school attendance, nutrition, and cognitive development. However, challenges related to implementation, quality, and sustainability remain. The study emphasizes the need for improved monitoring, community engagement, and sustainable funding. Overall, the MDMS has made significant strides in improving primary education, but continued efforts are required to optimize its potential.
