Abstract
This article describes the content of the international study TIMSS, the history of its development and development, the analysis of the accumulated experience. The essence of the modules of the education system on the basis of methodological approaches to assessing the quality of education in the native language, mathematics and natural sciences on the international research PISA and TIMSS is revealed.
