Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing various fields, including education, where it has emerged as a catalyst in communicative English learning. AI-driven tools, such as language learning apps, chatbots, and adaptive learning platforms, provide personalized learning experiences, offering learners opportunities to improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. These tools use Natural Language Processing (NLP) and machine learning to understand and assess a learner’s proficiency, providing tailored feedback and corrections. This paper explores the methods employed by AI in enhancing communicative English learning, including its integration into interactive lessons, pronunciation correction, and conversation simulations. It also delves into the challenges faced by educators and learners, such as the lack of human empathy in AI interactions, technological limitations, and accessibility issues. The prospects of AI in communicative English learning are discussed, emphasizing the potential for scalability, inclusivity, and its role in fostering autonomous learning. As AI continues to evolve, it holds the promise of transforming English language education, making it more accessible and effective for a diverse range of learners globally.
