Abstract

Higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) play a crucial role in modern education, as they enable learners to go beyond memorization and develop the ability to analyze, evaluate, and create knowledge. This article explores the concept of higher-order thinking skills, their key components, and the importance of fostering them at the school level. It highlights the benefits of HOTS for academic achievement, problem-solving, creativity, and personal development. The paper also examines the role of teachers and schools in promoting higher-order thinking through learner-centered approaches, innovative teaching strategies, and appropriate assessment methods. The article concludes that systematic development of higher-order thinking skills is essential for preparing schoolchildren for lifelong learning and successful participation in society.
