Abstract
Inflammatory arthritis causes periarticular osteopenia, marginal erosions, and uniform joint space narrowing. Noninflammatory, degenerative arthritis causes sclerosis, osteophytes, nonuniform joint space narrowing, and cysts. Chronic tophaceous gout typically causes erosions with a sclerotic margin and overhanging edge in peripheral small joints
