Abstract
This article describes some considerations about the linguistic nature, specific features, and types of words that are characteristic of the diminutive category.The problem of studying the semantic and word-formation properties of words with the meanings of diminutive endearment is widely covered in the linguistic literature.The article analyzes the research conducted in world linguistics on this subject, the theoretical views of scientists.
