Abstract
Recently, the acceleration of globalization processes in the world has made the issue of interethnic relations and tolerance an important factor of peace and harmony, universal human unity and stability not only in one country, but also in the whole world. Based on this urgency of the issue, the article comprehensively discusses the elevation of tolerance to a political level, its legal foundations, the strategic importance of the principles of good neighborliness, interethnic harmony, religious tolerance, and humanism in the development of our country.
According to data, about 70 nationalities lived in the territory of our republic a hundred years ago. 30 years later, this figure reached 91, in 1959 - 113, in 1979 - 132. According to the latest results of the population census, it now reaches 136. The recognition of the political and legal equality of citizens of society, of nations in general, and ensuring stability between them is the basis of the state system. Because political tolerance is one of the important directions of any state. Only a state that is able to form the ideas of tolerance in the minds and hearts of every person will unite people regardless of their nationality, religion, and social origin and will manifest itself as an organized social force.
