Abstract

The rapid digitization of government institutions has heightened the importance of Big Data as a strategic resource shaping contemporary decision-making processes. This article examines the mechanisms through which Big Data technologies influence administrative reasoning, policy formulation, and the operational efficiency of public governance. Integrating empirical illustrations and multidisciplinary scholarship, the study demonstrates that Big Data enhances decision-making through predictive modeling, real-time monitoring, algorithmic risk assessment, and evidence-driven policy evaluation. At the same time, it highlights the systemic tensions arising from data biases, institutional fragmentation, limited analytical capacity, and regulatory constraints. By elucidating both the transformative potential and structural limitations of Big Data in government, the article provides a comprehensive framework for understanding how data-intensive governance reshapes the political, organizational, and epistemic foundations of modern public administration.
