Abstract

This article examines the teacher’s role in applying didactic principles in school music lessons and the modern requirements placed on music educators. Music education is not limited to delivering musical knowledge but also aims to develop students’ thinking abilities, independence, creativity, and moral-aesthetic qualities. The principles of conscious learning, student activity, systematic and scientific instruction, and the unity of teaching and upbringing form the pedagogical foundation of the learning process. Teachers are expected to integrate theory with practice, use educational technologies, and adapt learning materials to students’ interests and needs. Music lessons also contribute to the formation of musical culture, appreciation of national musical heritage, and aesthetic sensitivity. Therefore, the effectiveness of music education largely depends on the pedagogical, professional, and cultural competence of the teacher in organizing the learning process creatively and systematically in accordance with modern curriculum requirements.
