Abstract
Bamboo is one of the plants with economic value in Indonesia, which is often found growing in community gardens or rural areas. This study aims to: 1) Inventory bamboo species (Bambusa); 2) Analyze the biodiversity value (biodiversity index) idiversity, indexispecies richness, and indexievennessispecies); and 3) Formulating recommendations for bamboo plant conservation in the Biyonga-Bulota River area. The methods used include quantitative descriptive and exploratory approaches. This study identified 10 types of bamboo: Dendrocalamus asper, Bambusa vulgaris var. striata, Bambusa vulgaris Schrad, Bambusa spinosa, Gigantochloa pruriens, Gigantochloa atter, Schizostachyum zollingeri Steud., Schizostachyum lima, Schizostachyum jaculans, and Schizostachyum brachycladum. The biodiversity index in each location is in the moderate category: Polohungo Village (1.965), Biyonga Village (1.485), Bulota Village (1.975), and Bongohulawa Village (H' = 1.678). The species richness index at each location was categorized as low, with R values of 1.616, 0.954, 1.646, and 1.412, respectively. The species evenness index values at each location were categorized as high: E = 0.945, 0.922, 0.899, and 0.862. Information on the biodiversity of bamboo plants in the Biyonga-Bulota River area is important for sustainable management. To preserve bamboo plants, replanting of rare bamboo seedlings is needed in the Biyonga-Bulota River area by making bamboo an environmental conservation plant.There are two distribution patterns of bamboo plant species in the Biyonga-Bulota River, namely a diverse distribution pattern and a clustered distribution pattern.In order to maintain the sustainability of bamboo plants, it is necessary to replant rare bamboo seedlings in the Biyonga-Bulota River by making bamboo an environmental conservation plant.
