Abstract

Effective Strategic Planning and Access to Quality Education for Vulnerable Secondary Schools Students in Muyuka Sub Division, South West Region of Cameroon. According to UNICEF (2020), Access to quality education is a fundamental right for all children, but vulnerable students face significant obstacles in accessing quality education. approximately 25% of children in sub-Saharan Africa are not enrolled in school. One specific research question guided the study. To what extent does Effective Strategic Planning Influence Quality Education for Vulnerable Secondary School Students in Muyuka Sub Division of the South West Region of Cameroon. The research question was then transformed to research hypothesis which state, there is no significant difference between effective strategic planning and access to quality education for vulnerable Secondary Schools Students in Muyuka Sub Division, South West Region of Cameroon. A mixed-methods approach was used, specifically, the sequential explanatory design with a sample of 200 vulnerable students and 100 teachers and principals. Data was collected using questionnaires and interviews, and analyzed using simple linear regression. This study was conducted in the Muyuka sub-division, in the South-West Region of Cameroon. The findings show that factors such as poverty, distance to school, and lack of family support are significant obstacles to accessing quality education for vulnerable students. The simple linear regression test showed that poverty is the most important factor (β = 0.45, p < 0.01). The findings of this study could be used to inform policies and educational practices aimed at improving access to education for vulnerable students in the Muyuka sub-division. The recommendations include setting up financial support programs for vulnerable students, building schools closer to communities, and training teachers to better support vulnerable students.
