Abstract
Recognizing that contemporary Europe has developed into a highly multicultural and multiethnic society is essential for understanding the region’s modern social evolution. This reality plays a direct and significant role in the study of the origins and distribution of family names. Surnames function not only as personal identifiers but also as clear reflections of historical, cultural, and ethnic roots. In the following analysis, this issue is examined through examples of family names belonging to various national and cultural groups present within European society.
