Abstract

This article explores the role of English in global communication by examining linguistic variation, functional adaptation, and the reconstruction of meaning in multilingual discourse. Unlike traditional models that view English as a stable and standardized system, this study approaches English as a flexible communicative resource shaped by diverse linguistic and cultural contexts. Drawing on sociolinguistic, pragmatic, and discourse-analytic perspectives, the research analyzes how speakers negotiate meaning, adjust linguistic forms, and co-construct understanding in international interactions. The findings demonstrate that global English operates as a dynamic and adaptive medium, where variation and functional creativity are central to effective communication rather than deviations from an idealized norm.
