Abstract

In this article, I outline the fundamental challenges that countries, with a focus on Uzbekistan, encounter when addressing non-tariff measures (NTMs) and explore how optimizing these barriers can enhance international trade. Given that international trade significantly influences economic growth, it's imperative for governments to grasp the intricacies of trade policy, implementing the effective use of tariffs and non-tariff measures. Additionally, it assessed the regulatory frameworks, administrative procedures, and institutional structures in Uzbekistan that are linked to the implementation of non-tariff measures (NTMs). The research's findings aim to shed light on the potential benefits and drawbacks associated with the adoption and enforcement of key NTMs in trade policy, as well as the challenges and opportunities tied to their execution and enforcement.
