Abstract
Gene therapy is an innovative and promising field of medicine aimed at treating and preventing various diseases by modifying the genetic material of a patient's cells. In recent decades, genetic modification of cells has become possible thanks to advances in molecular biology and biotechnology. In this article, we analyze current achievements, prospects, and risks associated with the use of gene therapy, as well as discuss safety issues and the ethical aspects of this technology.
