Abstract

This article provides a scholarly analysis of the historical and cultural foundations of Abdurauf Fitrat’s creative work and its close connection with the Jadid enlightenment movement. The study examines Fitrat’s role in the national awakening processes that emerged in Turkestan at the beginning of the 20th century, as well as his contributions to educational reform and the promotion of modern scientific and cultural ideas. Fitrat’s literary, scientific, and pedagogical legacy is explored within the developmental stages of the Jadid movement. In particular, the article analyzes his works such as “Munozara”, “Oila”, “Rahbari Najot”, and “The Statement of the Indian Traveler”, which reflect his progressive views on national identity, education reform, and cultural advancement. The research also highlights Fitrat’s initiatives in establishing new-type schools, introducing modern teaching methods, and raising national consciousness, drawing on relevant historical sources. The findings demonstrate that Fitrat’s intellectual heritage is deeply intertwined with Jadid enlightenment principles and holds significant scholarly and practical importance for the development of Uzbek culture and national thought.
