Abstract
This article provides a comprehensive linguistic and linguocultural analysis of kinship-related lexical units found in Nasoyimu-l-muhabbat, a significant work by the great poet and thinker Alisher Navoi. The study systematically examines words expressing both general and specific kinship relations, highlighting their semantic layers, subtle meaning distinctions, and functional characteristics within the text. Special attention is given to the poetic functions of kinship terms in the literary discourse, their role in shaping imagery, and their significance in reflecting social and cultural relationships. The article also explores the historical development of these lexical units, their ethnolinguistic foundations, and their close connection with the traditional worldview and cultural values of the Uzbek people, supported by illustrative textual examples. The findings of the research demonstrate the harmony between language and culture in Navoi’s works and reveal the important role of kinship vocabulary in expressing national mentality. The conclusions drawn from the study contribute valuable theoretical and practical insights to ongoing research in Uzbek linguistics, ethnolinguistics, and literary text analysis.
