Abstract
This article analyzes modern trends in foreign language teaching methodology, particularly the issues of xenology and intercultural communication in the process of teaching the German language. Indeed, in today’s globalized world, learning a foreign language is no longer limited to acquiring linguistic knowledge alone. It also requires the development of the ability to engage in effective communication with representatives of other cultures. Based on my personal considerations, the article highlights the problem of overcoming stereotypes in teaching German and substantiates the role of the methods of presentation, practice, and application in this process. Furthermore, the effectiveness of interactive methods such as discussion, role-playing, brainstorming, and clustering is analyzed. According to my personal analysis, it can be stated that interactive methods play a significant role in developing students’ intercultural competence and contribute to reducing stereotypes. As a result, learners acquire the ability to communicate freely and appropriately in real communicative situations.
