Abstract
In the modern era, educating youth to be patriotic and morally upright individuals remains a critical objective for national development. In Uzbekistan, this aim is closely tied to the transmission of national values, cultural heritage, and spiritual ideals passed down through generations. Despite various initiatives, the role of national values in shaping patriotic consciousness and resistance to destructive ideologies among youth requires deeper exploration. This study examines the role of national values in cultivating patriotic education among young people in Uzbekistan, highlighting its ideological, spiritual, and societal functions. The research identifies key factors contributing to patriotic development, such as historical memory, religious-humanistic values, and cultural continuity. Government initiatives—such as patriotic awards and military education—support these processes, alongside the intellectual legacy of figures like Imam Bukhari and Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur. The article contextualizes national values as a multidimensional socio-spiritual system that reinforces youth identity and moral resistance against global ideological threats under the guise of religion. Strengthening patriotic education through the creative use of national values and historical heritage enhances national unity, counters extremist influences, and prepares a generation grounded in humanity, respect, and civic responsibility. The research affirms that spiritual continuity and national identity are key to building a resilient and harmonious society.
