Abstract
Music education in general secondary schools plays a fundamental role in the holistic development of students, contributing not only to their artistic abilities but also to their cognitive, emotional, and social growth. This article explores the main principles of music education methodology in general education schools, focusing on pedagogical approaches, psychological foundations, curriculum design, teacher competencies, and the integration of traditional and modern teaching technologies. The study emphasizes that effective music education is based on the principles of accessibility, systematic learning, creativity development, cultural relevance, and student-centered instruction. It also highlights the importance of active learning methods such as performance, listening, improvisation, and group activities in forming musical literacy and aesthetic taste among students. The article argues that music education should be viewed as an integral part of the overall educational system, contributing to the formation of a well-rounded personality capable of critical thinking, emotional expression, and cultural appreciation.
