Abstract

Eco-tourism, characterized by responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and sustains the well-being of local communities, has emerged as a vital component of sustainable tourism development worldwide. This thesis delves into the concept of eco-tourism and investigates its potential role in the Karakalpakstan region of Uzbekistan. Through a comprehensive analysis of the region’s environmental landscapes, cultural heritage, socio-economic dynamics, and tourism infrastructure, this study aims to explore the opportunities and challenges associated with eco-tourism in Karakalpakstan. By identifying strategies for promoting eco-friendly tourism practices, fostering community engagement, and preserving natural resources, this research seeks to highlight the significance of eco-tourism in contributing to the sustainable development of Karakalpakstan.
