Critical Reading and Working with Notes

Critical reading is a form of thinking aimed at developing a deep analysis of the text, assessing the author's position, and developing the thinking process, in addition to superficial understanding. Today, as a result of globalization and a sharp increase in the flow of digital information, people are constantly forced to absorb large amounts of information. Therefore, not only reading the text, but also the ability to deeply understand its content and critically evaluate it is becoming an important intellectual tool for a modern person. This article analyzes the importance of critical reading and its impact on the reading process. Effective methods of critical reading, in particular, such approaches as reading with questions, comparing with alternative sources, and analyzing the reliability of arguments, are considered. At the same time, the importance of creating notes and adding annotations is emphasized in order to deeply understand and retain the content of the read text. With the help of effective notes and annotations, the reader will be able to form his own thoughts, independently evaluate the author's point of view, and interact with the text interactively. The article also discusses effective ways to work with notes. Effective assimilation can be achieved by systematically keeping notes, reinforcing them with graphic images or diagrams, logically connecting the information received, and constantly repeating it.
