Abstract

This article examines the complex relationship between tourism development, economic growth, and environmental and cultural preservation in emerging economies. As tourism continues to serve as a vital pathway for economic development in many countries, the challenge of maintaining sustainability has become increasingly paramount. Drawing on case studies from various regions and theoretical frameworks from sustainable development literature, this paper analyzes key strategies for balancing economic benefits with environmental protection and cultural integrity. The findings suggest that successful sustainable tourism models require integrated policy frameworks, stakeholder collaboration, community participation, and cultural heritage preservation. The article concludes with recommendations for policymakers and tourism planners in emerging economies to develop tourism industries that generate economic benefits while safeguarding environmental resources and cultural heritage for future generations.
