Abstract

This paper analyzes the role of ecotourism in improving the efficiency of natural recreational
resource utilization within a sustainable development framework. Growing tourism demand
increases economic benefits but also intensifies environmental pressure. Using a conceptual
approach, the study examines how ecotourism instruments—such as visitor management,
environmental standards, and community involvement—enhance resource governance and eco
efficiency. A conceptual model is proposed linking ecotourism mechanisms to balanced economic
and environmental outcomes. The findings highlight ecotourism as a strategic tool for achieving
sustainable and efficient resource use.
